The plate as an element of table decoration

The plate as an element of table decoration

The plate has traditionally had an additional use to that of being a mere container: the decorative one. In our region, the decorated plates of Manises or the “souvenir of…” plates oriented to tourism are especially recognized. The survival of these objects in the artisan workshops is due to nostalgia rather than to their commercial viability. Therefore, it is necessary to combine functionality and aesthetics to turn them into a sensory experience, in which the illustration is more than an aesthetic element, at the same time that we do not lose its traditional functionality as a container.

This is the idea of the collections made by Sanserif.es to renew the tableware presentation, but also the art of silverware.
