Designers from Valencia transform a pallet into a contemporary and ecological clock

Sanserif Creatius has borrowed an industrial element and recovered it for the home and office. It has taken an old pallet and transformed it into a contemporary and ecological way of telling the time. Clock Pallet is the studio’s latest creation advocating “added value” in the furniture and accessories we live with.

When making purchases consumers are increasingly more inclined towards extra values and functionality rather than other factors which, up until now, were viewed as absolutely indispensable. To this end, we have to rely on materials and products that fulfil the function for which they were originally conceived, but whose use life can be prolonged and open new options for businesses suffering from the effects of the current economic situation.

Clock Pallet is an industrial clock incorporating values such as sustainable growth, the reduction of residues and the reutilisation of materials in new creations. In fact, this recovery of the pallet is coupled with the use of natural waxes to age it and a process of artisan construction with low environmental impact, further enhancing the philosophy underpinning the design.

In essence, Clock Pallet is a metaphor. The visible part of the clock is made up of classical style golden hands which contrast with the piece’s overall industrial aesthetic. The numbers marking the passing of time seem to be faded. They are like a shadow of what they once were on a support that has also been darkened due to its continued use over time.
